Heritage and Growth in Cathedral Cities: finding a better balance

The Trust was one of 13 civic societies located in historic cathedral cities which have contributed to a report analysing the impact of recent developments on their character, setting and heritage assets. The aim of the work is to show how their historic character can be maintained while also accommodating development. The work began in 2019 and the final report was published in 2022. The report is the result of a collaboration between the Alliance of Historic Cathedral Cities and Towns, the Historic Towns and Villages Forum and Allies and Morrison Urban Practitioners, with funding from Historic England.
