Trust response to Government consultation on permitted development

January 2021 - The Trust has responded to Supporting Housing Delivery and Public Service Infrastructure, a Government consultation which focuses on the extension of permitted development rights. In our response we support the response made by Civic Voice and add two further concerns: the conditions and limitations applied to existing permitted developments to protect amenity have not always been sufficiently expert and comprehensive to serve as intended; and the existing regulations have not been monitored and evaluated by either Government or local authorities, and are not therefore being amended and improved to deal with potential areas of abuse.
