Thomas Micklam 1847-1898: Architect, Surveyor, Drainage Engineer, Councillor - "Not quite a gentleman"? by Judith Martin
Published by the Hampshire Field Club and Archaeological Society and written by City of Winchester Trust Council member Judith Martin, this publication tells the story of the life of Thomas Micklam, who despite no evidence of any formal training, designed at least 200 buildings in Winchester, most of which survive. And yet he was almost entirely unknown and never seemed to be accepted into Winchester Society. If you live in Winchester, your house may have been designed by Micklam and may be discussed in this volume.
